Last week, Bostik attended the Pressure Sensitive Tape Council (PSTC) Annual Summit in Baltimore, Maryland. It was wonderful to see the beautiful city peacefully at rest, and offering up warm summer temperatures!
What is PSTC
PSTC is a not-for-profit North American trade association for tape manufacturers and affiliate suppliers. The Council started over 60 years ago, and remains dedicated to helping the industry produce quality pressure sensitive tape products. PSTC prides themselves on offering technical, educational events throughout the year to encourage industry professionals to stay on top of trends and emerging adhesive technologies. The organization combines its annual member meeting with Tech 38 Tape Summit and other networking activities.
A plethora of information
Through their Tech 38 sessions, PSTC offered registered attendees the opportunity to learn about economic trends, specific applications and interactions amongst components of tape products, as well as next generation products. With a myriad of dynamic speakers from within the industry as well as from universities, the technical session delivered top-notch material once again. One of the highlights was the kick-off presentation “Prosperity in the Age of Decline” by Brian Beaulieu of ITR Economics®, back for his fourth keynote at PSTC! The Tech 38 Tape Summit also offered many opportunities for networking with industry professionals and to view the member exhibit floor.
Happy to host you
Bostik, and our parent company, Arkema Coating Resins each hosted a tabletop exhibit on Wednesday afternoon. Visitors stopped by inquiring about our “Smart Adhesives”, and asking for more information about technical capabilities as well as emerging technologies. Bostik highlighted several products utilizing our hot melt technology. From industrial tapes for high-temperature and durable applications to road marking tapes utilized during that ever-present fifth season – known as construction season – our products are optimized to provide high-quality performance in difficult applications.
Additionally, PSTC offered a great forum to meet with customers and suppliers – working on new projects as well as discussing market dynamics and trends. It was a pleasure to converse with suppliers and customers and to initiate longer-term discussions.
